Paintsight is an iPhone and iPad app that keeps painters' reference photos in one place, with notan and value studies, drawing grids sized to the canvas, color palettes and design tools.

Paintsight helps painters read a reference photo before they paint it. It simplifies a photo into 2 to 7 values and shows several notan designs side by side, pulls out the main color masses with their values, maps what's warm and cool, breaks the photo into flat planes, finds the vanishing points, and puts a grid on it that matches the canvas, square for square. Painters keep their references in a tagged library with favorites and collections that syncs with iCloud, prop an iPad or iPhone by the easel while they work, and photograph the finished painting to compare it with the reference. It's free with up to 3 photos and every tool; one payment unlocks unlimited photos. There's no account and there are no ads.
